We were established in 1982 as a Partnership, but as the business increased we became a limited company in 1990. From our Ipswich base we provide service throughout the United Kingdom.

We give advice on all general insurance issues. In addition to traditional insurance broking services for corporate and private clients, we can also offer independent financial advice.

Our coporate client portfolio ranges from sole traders to publicly quoted companies and includes the professions, retailing and distribution, leisure, the food industry, agricultural, industrial, transport, and international companies.

At a time of consolidation in the insurance world, we provide a credible and genuine alternative to the larger broking organisations by providing a local "one stop shop". The insurance market continues to be more volatile than at any other time. The multi national brokers are getting larger and some of the smaller brokers are being left behind. Massive merged organisations inevitably mean a more impersonal service. Woodward Markwell is filling the void being created, and we are staffed with people of the highest professional standing who have identified this deterioration of service and want to do things differently. We believe it is still possible to provide clients with that all-important ingredient, the personal touch.

We also offer a wide choice of personal insurances including household, motor, travel, pets and health. Many of our corporate clients like us to provide their family insurance requirements.
